On Saturday, July 10th, Abhishruti Bezbarua performed at a Baithak organized by Gautam and Anita Barthakur at their residence in Woodlands. A budding star of the Banares Gharana, Abhishruti has an inborn talent in a variety of art forms: music, dance, art. At a young age, Abhishruti has obtained many accolades through her presentations in numerous highly coveted Indian Classical music
gatherings, where she earned much recognition and a number of prestigious awards.
The Assamese community and a sizeable group of people from the Indian Music Society had the privilege of listening to Abhishruti at this Baithak. The recital started at 3:30 pm and was divided into two segments. In the first segment, Abhishruti recited the Raag “Jog” in its three forms - Alaap, Madhya Laya, and Druta Laya. This was followed by a Bandish in Raag Durga – a composition of Maestros Rajan and Sajan Mishra. She concluded the first segment with a Guru Nanak Bhajan in Raag Charukoshi.
