Summer marks the peak season for our parents visiting from India. It has been an unforgettable Summer with a variety of fun-filled social events starting from Annaprasanna, baby shower, birthday parties, musical nights, dance recital, barbeques/ picnics, pool parties, Indian Independence day celebration, and topped with my dad’s surprise birthday party.

This year our Assam-MN Parents/Grand Parents Club comprised of Purabi’s mom (Leelabati Goswami), Parag and Pranab’s parents (Harekrishna Sarmah/ Gita Devi) , Reema’s parents(Bhabendra Nath Goswami/ Parbati Goswami), Dipankar’s parents (Dwijendra Lal Bhowmick / Chhabi Bhowmick) Ankita’s parents (Tarun Deka/ Anupama Deka), and Geeti's parents (Mukul Chandra Dass and Jolly Dass).

The annual picnic of our community was organized in the picturesque Kensington Park in Milford, MI on July 7th 2012. The event was attended by most of the families living in this area. Although it was one of the hottest days of the summer, it turned out to be a fun event with lots of good food and games. It was a lot of fun barbequing and playing cricket on a hot summer day. It was made more enjoyable by the visiting parents of some of our community members.

Annual picnic from Northwest USA 1

As in every year, the Northwest community of Seattle and Portland had their annual picnic on July 29 in the beautiful Perrigo Park on a sunny day. Everybody enjoyed the outing with lots of food and outdoor activities and games.
