Families from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia gathered in the home of Rajib and Mainu Das in Atlanta, Georgia on the 10th of April to celebrate Bohag Bihu. The evening's festivities began with a friendly competition of koni juz, and led into an entertaining cultural program where both young and old showed off their talents. Food for the evening was catered from an outside caterer and many enjoyed aloo koni pitika that resulted from the koni juz. There was a pitha competition for the first time and over 20 different pitha/laru creations were entered, and each was a winner on its own. Thanks to all the ladies, as we had delicious snacks for the next few days! The highlight of the evening was a surprise from Rajib Das; he called his class friend, singer Rishiraj Sarma, son of noted singers Dilip and Sudakshina Sarma from Assam, and he entertained us with a few songs over the phone/speakers. It was very nice to listen to Sudakshina Sarma wishing us for Bihu and the New Year. Big thanks to today's technology and Rajib Das!

The celebration ended with an energy-packed husori. Thanks to all who joined in for a fun night!
